Made by using your hands.

Our rum is handcrafted. It says so right on every Malahat Spirits bottle. But what does that really mean?

We take handcrafting seriously.

It means more to us than simply using our hands.  It includes making everything from scratch. We start with sugar cane molasses, no short cuts. We ferment it here in our shining stainless steel tanks. We load it into our copper still and painstakingly adjust the steam heat and cooling water to collect just the right flavors. We taste the product and make the heads, hearts and tails cuts conservatively, so what ends up in your bottle of our rum is perfect.

Every time.

Handcrafting means that we select only the finest spices for Malahat Spiced Rum.  It means we hand peel the ginger for our Ginger Rum right here, at the distillery. We load the barrels. We fill, label and sign every bottle to prove it. We participate in the process every step of the way.

We take handcrafting seriously.

When you enjoy our rum, you can count on it. It’s the only way we will make it. It is how we want it made for ourselves. And you should demand the same.

Malahat Spirits. Handcrafted.
